1．Environmental Performances
We positively promote "Global Environmental Conservation" and "Contribution to Local Community" through the following activities.
- Local Clean-Up Activity : Clean the road around the factory regularly.
- Recycling of Industrial Waste : Empty Reels and Trays for SMD.
- Environmental Management Leadership to Suppliers : Recommend ISO14001 Certification and Reduce Survey Lead Time for Chemical Substances Inspection
- Promotion of Environmental Product Design and Assessment : Execute the following based on "5R". 1) Systematic Evasion of Prohibited Substances Selection by Internal Regulations, 2) LCA Considered Design and 3) Assessment of Environmental Impact
- Effective Use of Resources and Energy : "Improvement of Design and Mmanufacturing Quality (Reduction of Out Flow Defectives)" and "Reduction of Waste by Efficient Operation and Low Mistake"
- Reduction of Environment Resource Use (Environmental Performance) : Heading to reduction compared to the Manufacturing Q'ty.
２．Usage of Chemical Substances
UMC uses the followings as PCB Cleaner or Coating Dilution, etc. Usage is under the Notification of PRTR for each Site.
Material : IPA, Xylene, Toluene, Ethanol and Aceton.
３．Usage of Solders
UMC regulary watches the Usage of Solder and promote the change to Lead Free Soldering.
