Manufacturing at UMC H Electronics

Building on the technologies and experience cultivated over many years in manufacturing IT platform products that support an advanced information and communication society, UMC H Electronics is expanding its capabilities into new business fields, including automotive equipment and large-scale industrial equipment.

We provide one-stop support covering PCB artwork and production design, parts receiving, printed circuit board assembly, equipment assembly, inspection, and final product shipment. From prototyping and mass production to production-line setup or selected processes, we respond flexibly according to product characteristics and production plans, helping enhance the value of our customers’ products.

We also focus on repair services that extend the useful life of products. Skilled technicians capable of replacing large, fine-pitch components and performing defect analysis, supported by our quality assurance system, help maintain stable operation and extend the life cycle of high-value products.

Main Business Activities

Printed Circuit Board Assembly (PCBA)

We support prototyping and mass production from PCB artwork design onward. Our flexible production system supports products from startup through stable production. We can accommodate large boards up to 510 × 460 mm, board thicknesses up to 5.0 mm, and high-density mounting of multi-pin components.

Equipment Assembly

We provide equipment assembly (FA) using the e-Assy electronic work instruction system. We also support high-performance testing (FT) with various testing facilities while managing assembly quality and work history through product completion.

Inspection

We inspect solder joints and mounted components using automated equipment such as 3D-AXI and AOI systems. Automated inspection is complemented by visual checks performed by experienced inspectors to maintain high quality throughout the process.

Repair Services

We can replace large, fine-pitch BGA components. Localized heating combined with preheating minimizes the impact on surrounding components and supports reliable repairs with short turnaround times.

Parts and Inventory Management (Contract Warehousing)

We handle parts receiving, storage, and inventory management, as well as picking according to production schedules, shipment to customers, and supply to our production lines. We also perform pre-production preparation such as lead cutting and label printing to support efficient production.

Freight Forwarding

We arrange carriers according to each customer’s transportation requirements and support the transportation of parts and products. We provide logistics services coordinated with the entire process, from parts management and manufacturing through final product shipment.
