Environmental Policy
UMC H Electronics Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “the Organization”) recognizes that addressing environmental issues is a common challenge shared by all humanity. As part of our corporate social responsibility, we are committed to protecting the environment, contributing to local communities, and striving to be a company trusted by society. To this end, we establish, implement, and maintain the Environmental Management System of UMC H Electronics Co., Ltd.
- Climate Change Mitigation and Environmental Protection
In order to contribute to climate change mitigation and the realization of a decarbonized society, the Organization actively promotes operational efficiency and implements energy-saving initiatives.
Based on the environmental aspects associated with our activities, products, and services—including their nature, scale, and environmental impacts—and in consideration of the Organization’s specific circumstances, we establish environmental objectives and take actions aimed at pollution prevention and the realization of a sustainable society. -
Compliance Obligations
The Organization identifies applicable compliance obligations and conducts evaluations to ensure that operations are carried out in accordance with these requirements. When nonconformities are identified, appropriate corrective actions are taken. -
Continuous Improvement
To enhance environmental performance, the Organization continuously improves, implements, and maintains its Environmental Management System, including a framework for setting objectives, monitoring implementation status, and conducting management reviews.

IATF16949
We have been promoting initiatives to obtain certification for IATF 16949, the internationally recognized quality management system for the automotive industry. We are pleased to announce that we have successfully completed an audit conducted by LRQA, an accredited certification body, and have achieved IATF 16949 certification.
We will continue to drive ongoing improvements to our quality management system to ensure the consistent delivery of high-quality products and services that meet and exceed our customers’ expectations.

ISO14001
With regard to the international standard for environmental management systems, ISO 14001, UMC H Electronics Co., Ltd. obtained ISO 14001 certification on May 26, 2022 and began operating the system independently.
Subsequently, the ISO 14001 certification was successfully renewed and re-registered on May 26, 2025.
Based on our Code of Conduct, we will continue to promote the effective use of resources and environmental conservation activities, and to further strengthen our commitment to environmental responsibility.

ISO9001
With regard to the international standard for quality management systems, ISO 9001, UMC H Electronics Co., Ltd. successfully underwent a certification renewal audit conducted by LRQA in November 2025 and passed the assessment, thereby transitioning from our previous certification body.
We will continue to promote the continuous improvement of our quality management system in order to provide high-quality products and services that meet and exceed customer expectations.

No-Accident Record
Having achieved 7 million accident-free work hours, UMC H Electronics Co., Ltd. was awarded the No-Accident Record Certificate (Category I) by the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare of Japan on April 18, 2022.
We remain committed to fostering a safe and secure working environment, with each and every employee taking responsibility for workplace safety and continuing efforts to prevent accidents.

SAFE Consortium
In June 2025, UMC H Electronics Co., Ltd. became a member of the SAFE Consortium, an initiative established by Japan’s Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare.
The SAFE Consortium promotes workplace safety and health under the banner of “Safer Action For Employees (SAFE)” by fostering momentum for the prevention of occupational accidents and encouraging positive behavioral change not only among companies and workers, but also among customers, service users, and other stakeholders.
Through our participation in the SAFE Consortium, we will continue to promote and strengthen our occupational safety and health initiatives. In line with our corporate philosophy of “building a company where employees are happy and take pride in their work,” we are committed to creating a safe and secure working environment for all employees.

Workplace Environment Improvement Declaration Certification
In July 2025, UMC H Electronics Co., Ltd. was officially recognized as a Workplace Environment Improvement Declaration Company by the National Federation of Social Insurance and Labor Consultant Associations of Japan, and was granted the corresponding certification mark.
This certification is a diagnostic-based recognition program awarded to companies that demonstrate a strong commitment to legal compliance and continuous improvement of the working environment, and that place a high value on their employees.
While we have long emphasized labor compliance and the creation of a safe and secure workplace where employees can work with confidence, we remain committed to further promoting work-style reforms and continuously improving the working environment for all employees.

Officially Certified as a Work–Care Balance Company
In June 2025, UMC H Electronics Co., Ltd. was officially recognized as a company promoting the development of a workplace environment that enables employees to balance work and caregiving responsibilities, under an initiative promoted by Japan’s Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare, and was awarded the “TOMONIN” mark.
We will continue to promote the development of a workplace environment that allows employees to work with confidence, and to provide ongoing support to help them balance their professional responsibilities with caregiving.

Sponsored the 78th Hadano Festival
As part of our contribution activities aimed at supporting regional revitalization, UMC H Electronics Co., Ltd. has sponsored the 78th Hadano Festival, the largest tourism event in Hadano City, Kanagawa Prefecture, where our facility is located.
The festival will be held on Saturday, September 27, and Sunday, September 28, 2025, and will feature a wide range of events, including a fireworks display and various parades, attracting many visitors and contributing to the vitality of the local community.

Participated in the 17th Hadano Tree-Planting Festival
Our company participated in the 17th Hadano City Tree-Planting Festival, which is organized by Hadano City as part of its citizen-led tree planting, nurturing, and forest revitalization initiatives.
The festival was held on May 16, 2026, at Kobo-yama Park (around the Sengenyama area). Employees from our company—including members of the Sosho-kai (a group of employees with outstanding achievements and advanced skills) and staff from the Environmental Systems Management Center—joined approximately 200 members of the public to plant a total of 200 saplings, including mitsumata and Japanese maple.
We will continue to actively contribute to the local community and engage in CSR activities.
